VISA INFORMATION:

Requirements for Visa

All visa applications require a completed visa application form [21.1 kb. *.pdf, The form is in PDF format, which can be opened using Acrobat Reader. Acrobat Reader can be downloaded from here] (photocopies can also be used). Application forms can also be obtained by fax.

 

  1. The passport, in original, which must be valid for more than 6 months from the date of application of visa.
  2. International Yellow fever certificate, taken at least 10 days before entry into India
  3. One passport size colour photograph.
  4. Copy of confirmed return air tickets
  5. Completed and signed visa application form.
  6. The corresponding visa fees - to be paid only in US Dollars.
  7. If applicant is not a Peruvian or Bolivian national, other requirements have to be fulfilled.

However, apart from all above, the Embassy reserves the right to ask for additional documents like bank statements, letter from employer, etc. on a case by case basis.

Types of Visas

Transit visa

Valid for 15 days, single or double entry

Maximum permitted stay 72 hours per entry

Transit passengers on connecting flights, who do not need to leave the international transit area during their short halt at any international airport, do not need visas. However, they will not be permitted to leave the transit lounge of the airport.

General Requirements.

Tourist Visa

Valid for 6 months, multiple entry

Cannot be renewed.

General Requirements.

Business Visa

Valid for 6 months, multiple entry.

In addition to general requirements, documentation in the form of an invitation letter from an Indian company as well as a letter from the Peruvian company is required.

Student Visa

The duration depends on the specific case.

In addition to general requirements, documentation in the form of an admission letter from a recognised Institution or College is required.

In case of religious studies, other special requirements need to be fulfilled. Details can be obtained from the Embassy. The visa approval can take few months.

Work / Employment Visa

The duration depends on the specific case.

In addition to general requirements, the original employment contract signed by both parties is required.

Conference Visa

Issued to attend international meetings in India

In addition to general requirements, a letter of invitation by the event organizers in India is required. E-mails are not accepted.

If applicable, a copy of the authorization by the Government of India to invite foreigners to the conference. It may be mentioned that in most cases, such an authorization is required.

Journalist Visa

Issued for journalism work in India. However, all journalists should apply for this type of visa, even in cases of visits for tourism.

Valid normally for 3 months, single entry.

In cases of trips for journalistic purposes, other special requirements have to be fulfilled. Details can be obtained from the Embassy.

General Requirements.

Research Visa

Is issued for undertaking research work in various fields.

Cannot be issued without prior authorization from India, which could take few months.

In addition to general requirements, other special requirements need to be fulfilled. Details can be obtained from the Embassy.

Other Visas

Apart from the above, other types of visas can be issued depending on the purpose of the visit on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Embassy for more information.

Persons of Indian origin can apply for 5-year multiple entry visa.

Experts and technicians who have to travel to India under a bilateral agreement or joint-venture projects under Government approval can apply for 5-year multiple entry visa as long as duration of each visit does not exceed 180 days (6 months).

Visa Fees (including fax charges, if any)

In addition to the fees mentioned below, applicants applying from Bolivia must pay US $12 bank commission charges per cheque. Further, they have to pay US $ 32 courier charges each way (per set of applications) or use pre-paid courier for delivery of passport to and from Lima.

Fee for transfer of Indian visa from old passport to new passport is US $ 5 for all nationals
